Throughout his professional life, Steve Munro has always been focused on helping people, building relationships, and genuinely caring about his clients.

With a long background in property development and construction, Steve had never considered a career in insurance, although he worked closely with insurers across all levels of business for many years. It was only after he was headhunted by a number of professionals working within the insurance industry that he began to give it serious thought, and realised risk insurance was the perfect fit for him.

Wanting to make sure he could deliver exceptional service backed with in-depth, accurate, and up-to-date industry knowledge, Steve sought the mentorship of key senior personnel from New Zealand’s largest insurance head group. In 2020 Steve agreed to take on the role of Risk Services Director at Risk Direct.

Steve chose to work with Risk Direct because their values and motivation are aligned with his own – being trusted advisers with a focus on mitigating potential risk in their clients’ lives. He and the Risk Direct team are committed to ensuring their clients have the right insurance, so they get the help they need when they need it most, should they suffer an unexpected adverse event.

Steve believes risk insurance should be aligned with long-term wealth creation goals and therefore it needs to be tailored to each individual’s circumstances. It is this personal, caring approach that allows Steve and the team at Risk Direct to create insurance packages that really work for their clients.
